Samantha + Samuel | Romantic Delicate Summer Wedding at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden
There was no doubt in our minds that Samantha and Samuel’s romantic delicate summer wedding was going to end up perfect when we were blessed with warm sunshine over the predicted rain showers.
“I’ve been so nervous that I looked at the clock at 4 AM - I barely slept” the bride said to me a still a bit jittery. Despite her jitters, she still was a radiant vision with her veil perfectly tucked into her long brown hair and her makeup giving us the romantic delicate summery vibes all thanks to J.L. Makeup Studio. I took her hands and encouraged her to take some deep breaths and led her to the spot at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden where she’d do her first look with her soon to be husband.
As we approached, Samuel’s back was still turned towards her as Samantha exclaimed “Ahh there he is!!” and I felt her nervousness shift into excitement. With her lace and beaded train trailing behind her, she walked up to her groom tapping him on the shoulder and he turned around to see his beautiful bride— so overwhelmed that tears formed in his eyes as they embraced one another. While Dawn Derbyshire Photography captured this moment, I could see the brides shoulders relax and realized how important this first look moment was for her and it became clear why, not surprisingly, more couples opt to do this before the ceremony. I truly believe their first look is what helped set the tone and allowed the couple to fully embrace the rest of their day.
There were so many details about this wedding that spoke to how much Samantha and Samuel mean to one another; from their personalized vows, letters of commitment that were put in a wine box to be opened on their one year anniversary, to the speeches given by their loved ones that talked about their undoubtable chemistry. Yet again, another reminder to us why it is such a privilege that our work allows us to be a witness to all of this.
The space was filled with beautiful greenery and dusty pink roses from Gida’s Flowers. There were two beautiful vignettes styled by Vintage Alley Rentals that added charm and a welcoming energy for the guests. The infamous Pittsburgh cookie table was assembled and styled by Samantha’s Aunt and her friends which made it all the more personal and meaningful when it was done with such love for the couple. Lady fingers, Buckeye’s, thumb-print cookies- you name it, they had it!
After guests dined on a delicious family style meal prepared by Tallulah’s Catering, the couple cut their burnt almond torte, a true signature from Prantl’s Bakery, to be enjoyed by all. The group did not hold back getting down on the dance floor with the help of Pittsburgh DJ Company laying down some of the couples favorite hip-hop tracks.
The couple wore some of the biggest smiles all night right until the end- we couldn’t have felt more fortunate to have been a part of Samantha and Samuel’s day!
