Alyssa + Roberto | Event Center at Waterworks
Boy from South Africa meets girl from Pittsburgh … and the rest is history! College sweethearts Roberto and Alyssa had family and friends from around the world come to celebrate their special day. And what happens when you blend cultures from the U.S., South Africa, and Portugal? So much happiness, a lot of love, and a whole lot of dancing!
The wedding décor, details, and every part of this wedding truly reflected who Roberto and Alyssa are as people and as a couple – simple and joyous!
From their traveling map guest book for their love of traveling, naming each table after all the places they’ve traveled together, getting married in the same church Alyssa’s parents did, and even their wedding date -- the couple incorporated many personalized touches which made it all extra special.
Alyssa walked down the aisle in an embellished, lace wedding dress by Justin Alexander with her bridesmaids by her side wearing gorgeous taupe dresses by Adrianna Papell. Roberto and the guys sported classic black Calvin Klein tuxedos with black bowties, and fun black and white polka-dotted suspenders.
Fresh greenery and king proteas (which is South Africa’s national flower) surrounded their clean and airy venue with gold geo-shapes, mercury votives, and wooden accents. Vintage French doors showed guests the way into the reception where Ivory linens covered the tables with wooden laser-cut escort cards welcoming everyone as they took their seat. But the real showstopper was the custom floral structure made by Alyssa’s parents. The design inspiration came from an Exhale idea to elevate the space and bring some color to it. It just goes to show that sometimes it’s as simple as one piece that can change the whole appearance of the room.
There truly was so much love in the room that day that our hearts could’ve exploded! We are so glad that we got to be a part of this wedding and experience it all.
So in the words of the Portuguese -- Obrigado, Alyssa and Roberto!
