Heather + Matt | Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh | Wedding with Modern Classic Style
Hotel Monaco Weddings marry classic and modern styles and this one is no exception.
The most beautiful weddings begin with a beautiful love story — and Heather and Matt are proof that fairy tales do come true. Their story seems like one straight out of a movie: two people meet, life takes them down different paths, fate reconnects them, they fall in love, and live happily ever after!
Heather and Matt graduated from the University of Pittsburgh for grad school then moved to New York City, but their paths never crossed until they were in New York City at a Pitt alumni event. After meeting at this event, Matt emailed Heather asking to get together, but she never saw it. Several years later they met up at another alumni event and Heather asked Matt if he wanted to go out, not ever knowing about his email. Matt was so sure she was the one, he proved his affection by having his IT department find the old email he sent years ago. From there, the rest of their love story is history!
The two said their vows at Saint Paul’s Cathedral in Pittsburgh where Heather walked down the aisle in her classic A-line gown from Kleinfelds and luscious bouquet filled with peonies all while listening to the Pitt Glee club serenade their guests. After taking photos around some of Oakland’s most notable spots, they celebrated their marriage with an elegant, sophisticated soiree at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco.
Classic and clean details along with accents of pink, gold, and some sparkle played up the Hotel Monaco’s sleek and clean design. From their invitations to their cake topper, their initials (H&M) were integrated into accents of their wedding day.
The couple’s love for Pitt did not stop at their ceremony. Guests were treated to the Pitt Alumni Jazz Band for Cocktail hour and later in the evening, Roc, the University of Pittsburgh mascot even made an appearance. Niki Marie Photography, an international wedding photographer, captured their precious wedding day moments. Not being a Pittsburgh native allowed her to deliver such timeless photos in a unique light.
There’s no doubt our favorite thing about their wedding day was in fact their love for one another and how they often referred to each other as “my love.” From their serendipitous love story to their elegant wedding, these two are meant to be and we are so glad we got to experience the magic of their special day!
